Already a Shuqair client? Here’s what to know before you book.

If it’s been over six months since your last Physiotherapy session, please book a Reassessment Session (Initial Assessment) so we refresh our understanding of your movement health and adjust your care accordingly.

Also, if you’re experiencing a new symptom, injury, or concern, booking a Reassessment Session/Initial Assessment ensures we can give you the most effective care moving forward.

Sal is a physiotherapist with a lifelong connection to the profession, having grown up immersed in the physiotherapy world alongside his father, Sam Shuqair. This early exposure shaped his interest in human movement, rehabilitation, and long-term function from a young age.

Sal graduated from the University of Brighton in England in 2017, where he trained within the UK healthcare system and gained experience across a wide range of clinical environments. During his education, placements, and work experiences, he worked with patients across all age groups, including children, adolescents, teenagers, working-age adults, and older adults, allowing him to develop a broad and adaptable approach to care.

During his time in England, Sal worked in sports-focused clinics and alongside highly respected physiotherapists, including senior therapists involved with British national-level runners. This experience exposed him to complex injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and high-performance athletic care.

With a background in soccer, basketball, track and field, lane swimming, and general fitness, Sal brings an athlete’s perspective to rehabilitation. His approach focuses on understanding how the body moves as a whole, identifying root contributors to pain or dysfunction, and building long-term resilience rather than relying on short-term symptom relief.

Sal’s treatment philosophy emphasizes detailed assessment, education, and individualized care. He combines hands-off therapy with corrective and functional exercise to help patients move better, regain confidence, and return to the activities that matter most to them. His goal is not only recovery, but sustainable movement, long-term independence, and improved functional capacity.

Sal integrates principles from Functional Patterns, with particular focus on the foundational human movements of standing, walking, running, and throwing, which he views as essential for maintaining strength, coordination, and long-term function across all populations.
